Electrical Inspector

The Top Energy Group operates throughout the Far North delivering geothermal electricity generation and electricity network operations. We are enabling Northland to contribute to the decarbonisation challenge by transforming the Top Energy Group into a technology-enabled energy company that generates and facilitates two-way energy flow between renewable energy generators and consumers.

About the role

To carry out Internal, Energy Retailer, Metering Equipment Provider and Electrical Contractor field service requests including Electrical Inspections as and when required.

This role is based at our Kaitaia Depot and will report to the Technical Services Maintenance Supervisor.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be a Qualified Electrical Inspector with a current practicing licence. A Full current NZ driver licence is essential, as is experience working around live electrical distribution systems and the appropriate procedures. It is preferrable that you have 10 or more years' electrical industry experience.

Key areas of focus

  • Carry out Electrical Inspections
  • Carry out various metering tasks for Energy Retailers including meter and ripple control installation and replacement, disconnections, reconnections, site visits, prescribed asbestos works, safety investigations and checks
  • Assist with the development of new standards, manuals, procedures and policies
  • Provide accurate and complete records for both internal and external clients using customer supplied Apps or forms and within the appropriate service level timescale
  • During storm or civil emergency, perform fault location, switching and any other duties authorised to undertake
