Financial Controller
Top Energy Limited is a multi-faceted distribution and transmission lines company which has operations throughout the Far North and through its subsidiary Ngawha Generation Limited, owns and operates a geothermal generation power station. The company is owned by the Top Energy Consumer Trust.
We are seeking a Financial Controller to lead the finance function to deliver all the required financial and management information to support the Top Energy Group in achieving its strategic goals. The role will need to manage treasury requirements and maintain a capital structure that supports growth plans and manages risk. The role will also need to ensure that systems, processes and controls operate and are appropriate for the company's activities.
This position reports to the General Manager Finance and is based at our Kerikeri offices.
Key areas of focus will be:
- Managing the Group's financial compliance responsibilities
- Managing the delivery of half yearly and annual accounts
- Assist in the delivery of Shareholder, Board and Audit & Risk Committee reporting requirements
- Assisting in the development of the annual strategic plan and 10-year financial forecast
- Managing external audits
- Lead, manage and develop teams that use their strengths to support the needs of the business
To succeed in this role, you will have a relevant accounting qualification and have a minimum of eight years senior accounting and reporting experience, ideally in a commercial environment. It is essential that you have a high level of computer software capability, and knowledge of accounting procedures and practices (IFRS and NZ Tax). Your ability to lead a team to develop and excel will be proven as will your focus on delivering and promoting a customer service ethic.
